No Greater Joy's Good and Evil Book: Occult Markings

Michael Pearl Teaches the Occult Serpent Seed Doctrine in His Illustrated Bible

Micahel Pearl's Serpent Seed DrawingMichael Pearl, who claims to hold to the King James Bible as the word of God in English, incorporated Serpent Seed doctrine in his Good and Evil illustrated bible by replacing the word, seed, with "child."

According to the King James bible, God said to the serpent:

"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." (Genesis 3:15)

According to Michael Pearl's Good and Evil illustrated Bible, God said to the serpent:

"I will make your child and the woman's child to be enemies. Your child will bruise the heel of the woman's child, but he will bruise your head." (Mr. Pearl's revision of Genesis 3:15) emphasis added

Unlike the word, seed, the word "child" (when used in the context of physical offspring) is limited to the progeny of human beings:

CHILD, n.

1. A son or a daughter; a male or female descendant, in the first degree; the immediate progeny of parents; applied to the human race, and chiefly to a person when young. The term is applied to infants from their birth; but the time when they cease ordinarily to be so called, is not defined by custom. In strictness, a child is the shoot, issue or produce of the parents, and a person of any age, in respect to the parents, is a child.

An infant.

    (Webster's 1828 Unabridged Dictionary definition #1)

According to Michael Pearl's Good and Evil illustrated bible, the serpent's child (human progeny) will bruise the heel of the woman's child.

Yes, the bible uses the terms, "children of God" and "children of the devil" in the context of spiritual children of God or spiritual children of the devil. (1 Jn. 3:10) However, the context of Genesis 3:15 does not allow for the word, "child" in relation to the serpent or even to the woman.

God did not say that Eve would give birth to a child that would bruise the serpent's head. (Remember, child means the immediate progeny of parents.) Rather, he said that her seed (descendent) "shall bruise thy head."

God did not say that the serpent's child "shalt bruise his heel." God said, "[thy seed] shalt bruise his heel." Since a literal serpent did not bruise the heel of the Lord Jesus Christ we know that God was referring to the serpent's spiritual descendents -- wicked men motivated by Satan.

Not even the most loosely translated modern versions that I have consulted have modified this passage to the extent that God told the serpent his child would bruise the heel of the woman's child. Michael Pearl is using his Comic Book Bible to falsely teach that the serpent (Satan) had a child!

Michael Pearl's decision to alter the wording of Genesis 3:15 in order to send the message that the serpent would have a child should give bible believers much reason for concern.
