Having
a Single Eye Equals Being Not Deceived
The Christian must cooperate
with God by obeying the Lord Jesus Christ with a single eye in order to keep from being deceived.
"The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine
eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light. "(Being full of light is
being in a state of not being deceived.)
But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of
darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that
darkness!"
In the next verse Jesus explained what he was talking
about: "No man can serve two masters. . . Ye cannot serve God and
mammon." (See Mt. 6:22-24)
If you have a single eye and are intent on serving God
singleheartedly, and and repent as God reveals things in your life that are not
pleasing in his sight, you will be kept from deception.
If you have an evil eye (obedience to God is not foremost in your heart and mind) the
light that is in you will become darkness and you have opened the door to
deception.
Defending your own sin (and that of those you follow) is also indicative of an evil
eye. Repent so God can restore you.
God's People Are Commanded to Let "No
Man Deceive You"
When Jesus' disciples asked him to tell them when these
things shall be, and what shall be the sign of his coming and of the end of the
world, (Mt. 24:3) he answered them with a command: "Take heed that no man
deceive you." He did not say this could not happen; on the contrary, he
commanded them to not allow it to happen.
Jesus told his disciples: "Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo,
here is Christ, or there: believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs,
and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders: insomuch that, if it
were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Mt. 24:24
The amount of money Satan's followers are spending to
deceive the Christian is staggering. They will give their last dime to fund
propaganda campaigns in attempts to cause Christians to believe their
palatable lies and reject the hard sayings of the Word of God. And they are
presently succeeding to a large extent! (But not permanently, if God's
people commit their eternal souls to the truths written in the Word of God rather than
to Satan's spin doctors.)
The satanists know that God's people can be
deceived, and work
toward this end, even as their
infiltrators in positions of influence in the Christian church preach that
this can never happen.
The elect will not be deceived because they
have a single eye and a single master: The
Lord Jesus Christ.

Single and An Evil Eye
