Healing That Utilizes "Devils in Disguise"

This page is a compilation of words that are used in the New Age Movement, especially in occult healing. If you see these terms used in a positive way on an allegedly Christian websites or Christian businesses, beware. The Bible warns us to not give place to the devil because place can indeed be given:

"Neither give place to the devil." Ephesians 4:27

Subtle energy is from that "old serpent, called the Devil" who is subtle:

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? (Genesis 3:1)

Demon Does not Mean Devil in the Eyes of Occultists

Modern Bible versions as well as New Agers/occultists use the word, demon rather than devil. (I am working to get out of the habit of using the word, demon as a synonym for devil.)

"Demon" is not a synonym for devil. Those involved in paganism worship demons and use them to carry out specific assignments. Witches and satanists have familiar spirits (guiding spirits) which they refer to as demons and they definitely regard them as something that is good. The word, "demon" does not have the same meaning as devil:

demon, supernatural being, generally malevolent in character. In general, the more civilized pagan societies came to consider demons as powerful, supernatural beings who lacked the dignity of gods and who, depending on the circumstance, might be either benevolent or malevolent in their dealings with men." http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Demon

A witch regards a demon as being either good or wicked, depending on which demon they are dealing with.

Dictionary.com and modern Webster's Dictionary give the following definitions for "demon". Notice the second and third definitions:

Main Entry: deˇmon Variant(s): or daeˇmon
Etymology: Middle English demon, from Late Latin & Latin; Late Latin daemon evil spirit, from Latin, divinity, spirit, from Greek daimon, 1 a. an evil spirit b. : a source or agent of evil, harm, distress, or ruin 2 usually daemon : an attendant power or spirit: Genius 3 usually daemon : a supernatural being of Greek mythology intermediate between gods and men

Unlike the word, demon, the word devil has a consistent connotation of evil. Dictionary.Com, and the modern Webster's Dictionary define devil as follows:

1. Devil - In many religions, the major personified spirit of evil, ruler of Hell, and foe of God. Used with the. 2. A subordinate evil spirit; a demon. 3. A wicked or malevolent person.
